Illegal accounts

All of us have always suspected this, now a survey has only proven it.The annual Children's Media Literacy Audit has found out that a quarter of 8-12-year-olds globally has a social networking profile on Facebook, MySpace and others of the ilk. The annual audit revealed that 93 percent of the parents whose children are on social network despite being under the recommended age say they monitor what their kids get up to. The rest did not even know if their child visits social networking sites or not. The Children's Media Literacy Audit revealed that downloading or watching TV and films on the web is some thing which a lot of kids indulge in and is on the rise among children aged between 8 and 15.

Google on a leaflet?

While Tweets were being sent out on Google's exit from China, in all that heat generated in cyber space, a very interesting bit of news went down a blackhole. Google, as part of its endeavour to get every last citizen in the United Kingdom online, will distribute leaflets to Britons. For this, Google has earned a few smirks. Can you imagine digital champion Google having to resort to a 'Real World' method to get across its message? Then again, the search engine is trying to reach out to all those UK citizens who do not use the Internet at all, so sending them e-mails or tweeting them would have made no sense, right? Called The Simple Guide to the Internet, the Google project is part of Race Online 2012, an initiative started by the UK government's digital inclusion champion, Martha Lane Fox.
